Laurent, a journalist who has been reporting the murder case, arrives at the station for the next train to Paris. Lidia, a young woman, is also at the station, anxiously waiting for someone to turn up. A wealthy couple, Diane and Gabriel Damerville, then appear, and it is obvious to everyone present that they hate one another. With two hours to kill before the train arrives, Laurent turns his mind to the murder case. He begins to suspect that Nenette, an old man who works at the station as a cleaner, may be the culprit. He then gets a tip-off from Diane, to the effect that her husband is the killer...
